This puppet is antique and was actually used for several years in Javanese Shadow Theatre.
The golden skin puppet is beautiful, well preserved and shows only minor old restorations.

Bisma was a sacred and noble warrior,  who died in battle at the hands of Srikandhi  (Arjuna’s wife) in the Mahabharata epic. Also a priest and a teacher for the Pandawas and the Kurawas, he was involved in the war for a cause he didn’t believe, but he remained faithful to the Kingdom of Hastina.
