This puppet is antique and was actually used for several years in Javanese Shadow Theatre.


Banowati
Goddess is the daughter of King Salya. She was a very beautiful princess, and her behavior smooth and proper. 
At first Banowati fell in love with Arjuna, but eventually she married King Duryudana and became empress in Hastinapur. But her relationship with Arjuna has always been a special one. It was him who advised her to marry his cousin Duryudana. Soon after her husband died in battle, she finally accomplished her love dream with Arjuna.

The puppet is well preserved, has a central stick made of buffalo horn, and shows no major damage, except for the wear and tear of time.

Material: water buffalo leather
Sticks: main stick in water buffalo horn, the other two sticks in wood.
